The invention of paper occurred during the Han Dynasty.  Paper plays such an important role in today's society.  Money is made of paper, checks, schoolwork is also made of paper.  Without paper we would not be able to do schoolwork, would not be able to have money, and would not be able to write checks.

Glazed pottery was invented during the Han dynasty.  It is used as a decoration and to hold things.  Glazed pottery is hand crafted in a workshop.  They are made of clay that is molded into the shape desired.  People use glazed pottery today as decorations and places to hold things in.

 Inventions during the Han Dynasty
Some important inventions during the Han Dynasty were the wheelbarrow, seismograph, paper, and cast iron tools.  The wheelbarrow is used for yard work making it easier to carry around loads and move them from place to place.  It has a box in the middle of it to carry the load.  It has a wheel on the bottom to allow the wheelbarrow to move about with little effort.  There are also handles on the end of the wheelbarrow allowing you to get a grip of it with ease.  It also has two pegs on the bottom to allow the wheelbarrow to support the load by itself.
The seismograph is used as a tool to measure the magnitude of an earthquake.  There is a little pen on the end of a string and every time the tectonic plates move it causes the pen to make spikes on a piece of paper.  The bigger the spikes the greater the magnitude of the earthquake. An earthquake is caused by movement of the plates under the surface of the earth.  There is tension between all the plates and when the tension is released and the plates move it results in an earthquake.  The scale that is used to determine the strength of the earthquake is called the rictor scale.  It has measuring system in which the lowest magnitude is 0.1 and it is a never ending scale.  There is no set measurement that indicates that it has raeched the strongest magnitude and can not go any higher.
Paper is used for so many things today including writing, money, homework, art and many other things.  Paper is made from trees and is very important in the lives of people today.  Cast iron tools are used in workshops and they give the user an easier way to build things and shape things.  There were many inventions during the Han Dynasty and all of them play a big part in our lives today.  http://www.angelfire.com/hi5/interactive_learning/china/ancien4.jpg    http://www.arthursclipart.org/machines/machines/seismograph.gif    https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTc2uSv4o-gd_zWgzcvUsml_q4ZCbByTzxZtjWUIg-yja_2iL1NmhT7KYfX37_q8PfGZXdI2G5fnQ31xJq3gFjwDTjc0HhaJcYplXK6D4_AcEnbAyLNlhjN28npg-jAByGGL83LZXvDhc/s1600/Paper+%2528hw%2529.jpghttp://www.cast-iron-toys.com/images/Iron%20Tools%201.jpg

This map is showing the Han Dynasty at its prime.  The Red is showing the territory that the Han Dynasty ruled.  The black line shows the borders of todays China.  The Han Dynasty takes up about half of todays China.  The great wall of China stood at the top of the territory.

The silk road ran right to the heart of the territory.http://www.monkeytree.org/silkroad/travelerimages/han.map.jpg

History of the Han Dynasty

The Han dynasty was the most important dynasty because it included the inventions of the wheelbarrow, and the seismograph.  The wheelbarrow is used so much now for yard work and in businesses.  It helps you carry a load in an easy and efficient way.
The seismograph is used to measure the magnitude of an earthquake.  The little pen that hangs from a string picks up the vibrations of the tectonic plates moving under the surface of the earth.  The more the plates move the bigger the spikes will be that the seismograph produces..  These are both very important inventions that help us in life today and in the future.  The inventions in the Han Dynasty make this dynasty the most important in Chinas' history.
